The Access Northeast IP Backbone currently consists of (4) diverse Internet Nodes in New Jersey and Massachusetts. Each of these IP Nodes connects to the Public Internet with 100Mbs Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet Circuits. These IP Nodes are in Data Centers or Telco Carrier Hotels which are all inner-connected via Private Fiber Optic links ranging in size from DS3 to Gigabit Ethernet. The entire network then runs External BGP4 (Border Gateway Protocol 4) for superior redundancy and performance. Our IP backbone is connected to all of the following largest IP backbones via one router hop: MCI/UUNet, AT&T, Sprint, Level 3, Global Crossing, Qwest, Broadwing & Savvis,
In addition to BGP4, Access Northeast also provides Performance-Based Routing via a Gigabit Ethernet connection to Internap Network Services. Internap runs an Overlay Network with connections to all the Tier One Providers. In addition to BGP4, Internap routes traffic based on performance criteria such as the least amount of latency and packet loss between network hops. As a result, Access Northeast's Internet Backbone is a diverse, robust network with better IP application performance for our clients. Access Northeast guarantees this performance excellence with our 99.999% Uptime Service Level Agreement .
